Bureau of Land Management and Encana Oil and Gas officials say plans for up to 3,500 more wells south of the Jonah Field in Sublette County will include appropriate protections for air quality and wildlife.
But conservation groups say the development across 220 square miles will further harm Sublette County’s already poor air quality.
Sage grouse, pronghorn and mule deer also will suffer, they say.
